It's been almost one month since I found sparkpeople.com and joined. I immediately started tracking my meals and snacks. Actually, I tracked every single bite I put into my mouth. Well, this past week I didn't track my food. I thought, I've got a handle on how much I'm eating, how many calories I'm taking in.
Wrong!
I didn't lose anything this week. Zip. Nada. Nothing. I didn't gain anything. I didn't lose anything. I've learned my lesson. I'm going to track my food this week. Every single bite, taste, lick, and sniff is going on the list.

Kaye,
I totally hear you on the need to journal. I think it add that extra bit of accountability. For me it adds an extra half a second of thought before I put each thing into my mouth. Sometimes that half second makes all the difference.
I love SparkPeople, but for the life of me, I can't journal. I find that keeping a Calorie Scale handy, along with measuring cups keeps me 'honest'. I got my calorie scale at Target for around $30. You put the food on it, punch in the code for that specific food, and the scale gives you all of the nutritional info (fat calories, carbs, etc.)
Kat, thanks for the tip on locating a calorie scale.
Brad, I know exactly what you are talking about! I think, 'I'm going to have to write this down if I eat this! OhNO!'.
